Jolly June Recap

Lucy Thomson. 14 June 2026

Another week done at HQ

On Monday alone, we had over 63 people through the doors, which is pretty incredible for a wee gym in Troon. The energy all week has been brilliant, with several full-house sessions and a really good atmosphere around the place. As coaches, those are the weeks that remind us why we do what we do.

One of the highlights this week was getting to crown Bryony as our latest Member of the Month and hand over her t-shirt. If you've trained alongside her, you'll know exactly why she was chosen this month. She shows up, gets stuck in, works hard and is always encouraging those around her. A very deserving woman.

This week we also shared a post about strength training and why it's so important. Sometimes when we hear conversations about strength training, it's easy to think they're aimed at someone else. But the truth is that strength training benefits every single one of us. It's not just about lifting weights. It's about being able to do the things you want to do, for longer. It's about staying strong, capable and independent. It's about looking after your future self, even if that's not always the reason that gets you through the doors on a Monday morning.

We finished the week with a lovely Sunday run with some of the Run Club girls. It's been a wee while since we've managed to get out together and, honestly, I'd forgotten just how much fun it is. No pressure, no expectations, just good company, plenty of chat and a reminder of how lucky we are to have such a great community around us.

Thank you to every single one of you who made it in this week. Whether you attended one session or five, whether you smashed a PB or simply showed up when you really couldn't be bothered, we're glad you were here. And if you haven't quite managed to make it along this week, don't worry. We know life gets busy. We hope to see you at some point in the week ahead.

Just a final reminder that we've now set a date for our HQ Sports Day and we'd absolutely love for you to join us. There will be plenty of laughs, some questionable athletic performances and hopefully a chance to create some much better sports day memories than the ones many of us were left with from school.

Hope you have all had lovely Sunday everyone.
