And just like that, another month at HQ comes to a close 💙
October really has been a wonderful month, and looking back at everything that has happened over the last few weeks, we really have managed to squeeze quite a lot into it.
We started the month with our very first Reset Week, and what an incredible week it was. It was so good to see so many of you getting stuck in, having a go, seeing where you’re at and giving yourselves a little starting point for where we’re heading next.
We celebrated our lovely John as our Member of the Month, alongside many milestones throughout October. Annette, Kirsty, Maya and Fraser all joined our 100-session club, and our PB bell has certainly been getting plenty of use too. Sandra and Fiona were amongst the first to give it a ring, and we’ve finished the month with some brilliant achievements from Fraser, Bill, Martin, Fiona and Debbie too.
There have been plenty of achievements outside HQ as well. We started October at the Aberfoyle Half Marathon, and later in the month we were incredibly proud of Elaine and Nikki, who both headed to Valencia and completed their individual HYROX events. What a month for doing hard things.
We’ve had some lovely visitors too from beautiful Baby James to our slightly fluffier visitor Milo and plenty of birthdays and celebrations along the way, including Lindsay celebrating an amazing three years at HQ.
Our seasonal decorations slowly started taking over the gym, because you all know by now how much we love any excuse to embrace a season at HQ.
We’ve also been treated to some absolutely beautiful October sunrises, which makes those darker early mornings just that little bit easier.
We welcomed the lovely Kerri back to HQ for Nutrition Without Noise, talking all things nutrition, fuelling and performance, accompanied by some very delicious Sabai granola bowls. Such a lovely evening and hopefully one that helped cut through some of the noise that surrounds nutrition.
Then came one very busy Saturday before everyone hunkered down for the storm. Seeing 20 bodies all moving together at 9am brought such a brilliant buzz to HQ, before we welcomed our littlest members for our first Mini Rox Stars later that morning.
I genuinely had no idea how Mini Rox would go, but it went better than I could ever have expected. Watching all the little ones getting involved alongside their grown-ups was very special, and I think it’s safe to say that one will absolutely be making a return.
We even squeezed in a little Day in the Life with Maya, Miz and me, giving you a glimpse behind the scenes of what an average Wednesday at HQ looks like although I’m not sure there really is such a thing as an average day around here.
Then, of course, we couldn't finish October without Halloween.
Thank you for getting so involved in all of our Halloween nonsense this week the decorations, costumes, music and workouts. And a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Friday Night Frights. The effort that went into some of those costumes was incredible.
We rounded everything off with Maya and a very lovely little Saturday session. Those 45 minutes of walking lunges will live long in the memory… if you know, you know.
More than anything, thank you for everything you have brought to HQ this October. For showing up, getting involved, celebrating each other, ringing the bell, bringing your little people along, dressing up, trying something new and continuing to make HQ what it is.
And now, onto November. We have lots of lovely things planned for November and December, and some dates you’re definitely going to want in the diary. Our festive calendar and Christmas timetable will be making their way to you very soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
For now, we hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and that there might be a few additional Halloween delights kicking about the house to help fuel those workouts next week.
Thank you, October. You were a good one. 🍂
