This week’s end-of-week recap is a little different to our usual ones, because this week, I think the recap deserves to be about one wonderful woman Eilidh. 

I have been so very fortunate to have so many wonderful people come into my life through fitness, and I genuinely feel incredibly grateful that I get to share so much of your lives. Some of you I probably see more than I see my own family, and I never take lightly the time that you choose to spend here with us. Many of you have watched our business grow since it was in its infancy and, really, since I was in my infancy too. From being a wee cherub working in Curves, to taking the leap and starting classes in Loans Village Hall, and eventually running our Five Weeks to Fit bootcamp at the Meadowgreen with Aeden. That is where we first met Eilidh, and she has been with us ever since. She has been with us through lockdowns, different venues, changing classes, new chapters and every stage of our journey.

She has also been one of the faces that has made every 4:30 a.m. start so much easier. Like so many of you, her warm, bubbly energy at that time of the morning has made it a genuine joy and privilege to turn up to a place that I am so lucky to call my work. Eilidh has always been one of the funniest people in any session. She brings the most wonderful energy, gives everything her full effort and always leaves us laughing with one of her hilarious stories. 

A few years ago, she travelled to New Zealand for her sister Caitlin’s wedding. When they came home, they brought back that Australian bug but this time, the dream was much bigger. Everybody packing up and beginning this enormous new adventure together. For such a long time, the move felt like something that was still far away. Then, somehow, years turned into months, months turned into days, and days became a matter of hours. Suddenly, you find yourself facing the last session and the last time, for now, that you get the joy of seeing someone who has become such a special part of your life. I feel emotional writing this, and there are definitely tears rolling down my face, because this has never just been about people coming in, using a service and then going home. 

So many of you have genuinely become family to me, and Eilidh is absolutely one of those people. I am so unbelievably excited for this next chapter for her and her lovely family. I hope Australia brings them the most incredible life, filled with happiness, sunshine and the most wonderful new memories together. And I really hope that one day, in the not too-distant future, I’ll be taking a trip to the land Down Under to visit them and see the beautiful new life they have created there. For now, though, this isn’t goodbye. It’s simply see you soon and g’day, mate, until we meet again.
